"The Wise Woman's Stone"

"A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. The the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."

Moon Shots

Photography... a hobby, a passion, a serious addiction.  I love being behind a lens looking at the world and capturing images that you may never see again. The joy of being able to share intimate moments between others, seeing the beauty of nature, or freezing in-time the smile on a baby's face, all of this simply makes me happy.  My goal is to post a picture a day for an entire year. It will be exciting to see how I can grow between now and then. I've got a good platform to start...set up with CS6, two excellent Nikon cameras, many different lenses, lighting equipment (that I still have to learn), and two printers that have excellent print quality. This is a fairly large and diverse scope of knowledge to master, but I'm confident it can be done!

Update: So I failed to post a picture a day work, gardening and everyday life tends to get in the way of hobbies. So I am going to just post as I learn.

The above image was shot with my Nikon D600, 55-300mm Nikon lens, flash off, manual, f/8, ISO 200 (unedited). This was the night of the last full month that was also supposed to look pink. The color of the image below was edited by a friend to reflect what I had hoped the moon would have looked like =)
